The Hard Bulls continued their dominance over the German league on Sunday, rolling to an 18-2 mercy rule victory over the Ulm Falcons. The game was never in doubt, as the Bulls offense piled up early runs to support the work of their pitching staff. Ten runs in the 6th inning ended the game early as the Bulls added another win to their stellar 2010 campaign.
“We played well,” said Manager Sam Faeder. “Regardless of who we play or what the score is, we’re still focusing on doing what we need to do to become a better baseball team. I was happy with the our focus level, the plays we made in the field, and the team effort on offense. Some guys are really moving forward, and its great to see.” The offensive effort was paced by rookie Nico Wunster, who ripped an RBI triple in the second inning to get things going for the Bulls. Wunster would add anther RBI hit in the third. “We have some good young players,” said Faeder. “Big step for Nico today.”
Robert Buchele had his best game of the season, going 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Hubert Bohler also added 3 hits, including his first triple of the season. “For Hubi to get three bases, you know he hit it a long way,” Faeder said. Faeder also went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s on the day.
On the mound, Borko Baranasic continued his excellent season by throwing 3 shutout innings and striking out 6. Dominic Nahrer added two quality innings of his own, before Patrick Kunz took over and finished out the Falcons in the 6th.| < Zurück | Weiter > |
